Email images slow loading

Original problem loading emails seems resolved..'magically '. Second part still a major aggravation...! It takes literally minutes to get email images displayed. Response from Google mail app is excellent. Checked internet speed and other internet apps are excellent. iPhone (with cellular turned off) is excellent. Multiple calls to Apple support ending up with Genius Bar checking out machine... no problems found. Thank you Apple for your diligence.....but....

Left with the conclusion this is a Mac Monterey IOS/mail issue. Any help in sight?

This is what I would try if it happened to me.

Your post suggests you have an iPhone. Try using the iPhone's Hotspot on your Mac (hopefully you have that capability) instead of your traditional Wi-Fi and see how quickly the images load.

OK, that's great news that the response is what it should be when using Hotspot.

I agree this seems like an awkward permanent solution. But it does isolate the problem to your standard Wi-Fi.

The first thing that comes to mind is perhaps you've encumbered that Wi-Fi with whatever is interfering with the images. Likely candidates are any anti-virus encumbrances on your Wi-Fi, or VPN, or something similar.

Turned off Malwarebytes and it seems better. Will check tomorrow when I will probably have 10-20 emails. That should be a definitive test. Will let you know.

Thanks for the tip. Tried it and it seems that response is what it should be. Are you suggesting this as a permanent fix or diagnostic aid. Seems awkward as permanent solution. Am I missing something?

Do not have VPN, and Malware is the only virus protection I use. I have no new emails to test Malware turned off . But if Wi-Fi was encumbered, wouldn't the slow response appear in internet page loading, Google Mail, and downloaded photo images? The problem occurs only in Apple Mail.

No joy! Had four emails this morning. They appeared instantaneously, but it took nearly two minutes for content images to appear. Contacted Malware anyway. They say '...not a reported problem...'.
