New update installed and getting strange texts Russian

iPhone 12 Pro Max. I installed the new update last night. Today I noticed strange texts about “your account is paid with the Russians, here’s your free gift” something to that affect. I took a screenshot but now can’t find it.

Any ideas? Thank you

Hello ~ It was a text? It is probably a phishing attempt and nothing to do with the update. Take a look here…

Reporting Scams:

This is a scam message. So, when you get a screenshot of it, report it to Apple. Use my user tip: Using the Photos App to Report Scams - User Tip

Restore or Reset your iPhone:

If you are so concerned, then restore from a backup or reset your iPhone to factory settings. Important: Back Up First: Be sure create a back up your iPhone prior to performing an update, that way you have something to restore your iPhone from, should anything go wrong afterwards.

A. Restore from a Backup:

Did your ever back up your iPhone with these installed? If so, back up you could back up your iPhone, and then restore it from the backup.

You are welcome.

Resetting it would be wise, if you are concerned. But don't freak out over it. I have reset my iPhone getting such messages.
