I don't really use Facebook, but I just read thru this thread and someone commented that the update Facebook released 2 days ago, which is version 381.0, fixed the issue. Have you tried that?
How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support
Sorry, but we really cannot help you here. The app was developed by and belongs to Facebook. I can tell you that on my iPhone 13 Pro, I can open Facebook, create a post and later edit it. It might be helpful to verify that you are on the latest iOS version and that your Facebook app is up to date. My FB app is on version 374.0 and was updated 2 days ago.
It’s relevant because it’s only unavailable on the iPhone
That does not make it an Apple app. Developers have to update their apps to be compatible with the latest iOS. If there is a bug in the app, Facebook has to address the problem.
The ONLY solution must come from Meta. Facebook is not an Apple product, and Apple cannot technically or legally fix a 3rd party product. The key to the problem is in your post: then the FB updated and then the feature is gone!
The problem is that the FB app updated and apparently broke, not that iOS updated.
I disagree that after the FB updated then the problem.....I have friends with an Iphone which was not updated to the new software and the FB was updated and they are not experiencing this issue. This was apple software update.
That is irrelevant - even if it happened after an iOS update, it is Meta's responsibility to update their software to be compatible with the new iOS version. Those are the facts. A computer manufacturer is not responsible for making an OS compatible with millions of apps - it is the app's developers' responsibility.
No one here can fix that - contact Meta.

Some people who have the same iphone with the same software versions on both the phone and facebook are not having this problem.
Where did you get that information? If true, then the only difference would be settings in the FB account. However, I seriously doubt it.
I dunno. I can edit my posts in the browser, but not in the iphone 11 app. The only change I know of is the latest iOS update.
my wife has same issue on her iphone 12 - again after the new iOS update.

There was also a Facebook app update.
I had the same problem in not being able to edit my posts on Facebook on my iphone but I could on my PC. I fixed it by offloading the Facebook app on my iphone and then reloading it. Let me know if this works.
"Edit Post" no longer appears in the list since iOS update.
Here are Facebook's iPhone instructions-
To edit a post you've shared on Facebook:
Edit Post feature is missing. Bug in latest app update.
The problem is solved.

That is a good question for Facebook. It is not an Apple product.
