Password rejected after a cold start

After moving from an Intel iMac to a Mac Studio using Migration Assistant. My password is rejected for my main admin user account, but accepted for my backup admin account (both use the same PW). Once the backup admin account is loaded I can switch to my main user account and the password is accepted OK. Resetting the password does not resolve the problem.

It turned out that the login screen for the my main account had defaulted to the French. I finally noticed the very tiny print in the upper right corner of the screen. Changing that back to the English resolved the issue. The login screen displayed by switching users did not default to French nor did the one for my backup administrator account, as a result those both accepted their passwords.

It seems having two admin accounts has confused the situation.

From the Apple Menu >can you log out the of the one admin then log into your preferred admin...(?)

then reboot and compare your results.
