Old iPhone still receiving texts & notifications

I got a new iPhone. Was getting calls, text messages, notifications, etc all to both phones. I de-activated the calls going to both phones but how do I remove the rest from going to both phones?

Also, does removing apps from the old phone remove them from the new phone, too?

The old phone will continue to get text messages that are sent to your Apple ID, as long as you are signed into your account on the phone.

You can check Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, turn off the switch for the old phone..

You may have done this already.. but in Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, make sure the switch for the old phone is off

No, removing/deleting an app from one phone does not delete it from the other

Removing apps from your old iPhone does not remove apps from the new iPhone.

What you will need to do is to reset your old iPhone to “New” and then if you must use it then use it with a new Apple ID. This will keep all data and functions separate from both iPhones.

To reset your old iPhone,, follow this guide published by Apple 👉 What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac - Apple Support
