iPad Air 4 with LG 27UP850N-W

Connected my iPad Air via usb-c (the one that came with the monitor) to my LG external monitor. Both devices support 4k (30hz for iPad Air and 60hz for LG), but a notice pops up on my monitor saying that the device is not displaying in the maximum resolution, as it is displaying in 2560 x 1440 instead of 3840 x 2160.


Any idea why the iPad Air is restricting resolution to a lower choice, and how to bump it up to 4k?

The 2021 models of iPad Pro support DisplayPort Alternate Mode video over USB-C - but this feature is not available on iPad Air4.


Perhaps consider using an Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - as you can simultaneously connect both an HDMI cable and your Power Adapter via the USB-C power pass-through connector:
