Can the bolt near the charger port rust?

They are "stainless steel" which can still still colourise with certain acids such as on your fingers.

Do not ever expose iPhones to water. 999 out of 1000 phones you will be OK but yours may be the one that lets it in and that is the end of your iPhone.
