Pages table - how to make a row span across a page break?

A table in Pages is longer than one page, but the row at the bottom pf page1 is too big for the remaining space on the page. Instead of splitting the row at the end of the page, Pages shifts the whole row to page2; how do I stop that happening?

You don't. Pages will not split a row. You can resize the rows of the table by reducing type size or removing text from one or more rows, or you can edit the text that is above the table and on the same page. Use either method, or both, to reduce the amount of space taken by the table or to provide more space for the table.
