Disposal of deceased’s iPhone

My husband has died and I would like to dispose of his iPhone and iPad but I can’t restore them to factory settings as I don’t know his Apple ID or password. They’re old so I have no receipts for proof of purchase.

don't believe you need to restore them, you are not the only one who can't access his data without appleID password
