Why did i have to follow these steps? Does it mean a problem with my mac?

My macbook Pro would not start so I followed the steps, held the power button down for 10s, no change, pressed the power button, the mac started. Great! But why did I have to follow these steps? Is there a problem with my mac I need to get fixed?

I gotbthe error window saying it shut down for a problem, but how do I find out the problem?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.5
