I am on a business trip, and I wanted to watch a movie that I own with my wife. She is telling me that she needs to rent it on her end so that we can watch it together. That doesn't seem right. How do I resolve this?

No such thing. Each digital purchase is linked to one individual Apple ID account.
- If you have Family Sharing with the Purchase Sharing option, then mention that.
- If you have Family Sharing without the Purchase Sharing option active, then mention that.
