Upload: Can't choose files from USER FOLDER anymore

Starting 2 months ago I when uploading a file (to Youtube or Google Drive) I can only choose uploading from Icloud, Desktop, Downloads and Favourites. Apple doesn't let me browse my Computer anymore (how it always used to be) to choose the file that I want to upload. Instead I have to open the folder by myself manually on my Macbook and then drag&drop the file into the website where I want to upload it. That's so annoying, especially if you upload many files every day. I just updated my Macbook to the newest version btw.

Anyone knows how to solve that issue?

Is the open file dialog set to minimal details? There is a disclosure triangle next to the file name field that expands or contracts the open file dialog. The minimal mode only lets you choose from recently used or favorites.

Also check the "Security & Privacy" System Preferences ("Files and Folders" section) to see if the browser has been restricted to just those folders.

Also, are you using any browser extensions, or any anti-virus apps, cleaning apps, or third party security software that may be interfering with the normal operation of macOS?
