my apple music says individual plan when I try to select student plan, how do I change this?

Thanks for posting in Apple Communities.


You'll need to go through the UNiDAYS website to verify eligibility and then change your subscription.


  1. Open the Apple Music app or iTunes. 
  2. Go to Listen Now or For You.
  3. Tap or click the trial offer (one trial per person or family).
  4. Choose Student, then tap or click Verify Eligibility.
  5. You'll be taken to the UNiDAYS website where you'll need to follow the onscreen prompts to verify your enrollment. After UNiDAYS verifies that you're a student, you'll be redirected back to the Apple Music app or iTunes.
  6. Sign in with the Apple ID and password that you use to make purchases. If you don’t have an Apple ID, choose Create New Apple ID, then follow the steps. If you're not sure if you have an Apple ID, we can help you find out.
  7. Confirm your billing information and add a valid payment method.
  8. Tap or click Join.


These steps and additional requirements can be found in Get an Apple Music student subscription.


You can change your subscription from your iPhone in Settings.


  1. Open the Settings app. 
  2. Tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the name of the subscription that you want to change.
  4. Tap See All Plans, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete your purchase.
  5. If you chose a subscription that you can share with family, turn on Share with Family. (Don't see Share with Family? Set up Family Sharing or join a family, then return to your list of subscriptions and turn on Share with Family.) If you don't want to share the subscription with your family, turn off Share with Family.
