Can I save videos generated by Apple Photos?
For example, Photos automatically generates a montage for recognized faces under "People" on my computer. Can I save/export these videos?

Yes you can. While the video is playing click on the Share button at the top and select Mail.
When the Mail app comes up there will br a new email window with the movie file in the body.
Drag the movie to the Desktop where you can play it in Quicktime Player.

Ingenious workaround! And very much a terrible method when it comes to Apple's own planning of functionality. My guess is this is because it auto-generates a new video with each additional photo added and doesn't take up the compute time to actually make the video until you request that it play one -- so you can't just export because it doesn't yet exist. Thanks for this!
Now I wonder if there is a way for me to edit the photos it chooses...
