Apple Time capsule upgrades

Would I be able to modify the hardware upgrade of any kind for in the apple time capsule that will support new wifi 6 standards?

No, if you are asking about Wi-Fi 6 on the Time Capsule.


If you want to run WiFi 6 and WPA3 Security, you will need a new Wi-Fi router. But, even if you buy a new router, it will not help on any of your Wi-Fi devices unless they are also Wi-Fi 6 capable.


Connect the Time Capsule to the new router using an Ethernet cable and turn off the Wi-Fi service on the Time Capsule, so you can continue to use the Time Capsule as only a back up hard drive.


Keep in mind though that the hard drive on the Time Capsule becomes "suspect" at about 6-7 years of use, so if your Time Capsule has reached that age, you might want to think about a new backup plan.
