iPhone will not send messages to non-iPhones

Yes, I have read the articles, turned on data, restarted the phone, deleted chat streams and started a new one, and all the other fixes offered in the Apple article. nothing works. iPhone simply will not send messages to non-iPhone, especially in group messages. once in a while they go through, and most of the time they do not, but pictures never go through. yall need to fix this. I should not have to spend $1000+ on a phone only to have to use Facebook messenger to communicate with friends and family. It is unacceptable with the technology we possess today.

All messaging to non-Apple products is done using your cellular carrier’s methods and technologies.

Additionally, let’s consider your statement “pictures never go through”. Pictures in messages to non-Apple products use MMS, again provided by your cellular carrier.

MMS requires both the following:

  • Settings > Messages > MMS Messaging = “on”
  • Permission from your cellular carrier to use MMS under your cellular plan. This may cost extra.
