Airprint on Canon printer

Hi everyone. I have been trying to get to install the full drivers package for a Canon TS8300 series, I need to get rid of Airprint in order to get full access to the full array of printing options (colour management et all).

I have downloaded the drivers package for this printer. I run the installation program, no problems. I add the Canon printer, I select it from the list, I go to the drop-down menu (Use) where I should find both Airprint and Canon TS8300 series. I only get the latter, which should be great. However, once I add the printer, sure enough, it gets set up as "Canon TS8300 series-AirPrint.

Is there something I am missing here? It is driving me bonkers and I cannot figure it out.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Which exact TS83xx model do you have?

Just as an example, the Canon Canada support page for a TS8320 says, with macOS 12 selected:

"This device is supported by the Apple AirPrint™ Service and a driver is not needed."

The Canon UK support page for a TS8350 says, with macOS 12 (Monterey) selected:

"This product is compatible with the operating system selected using AirPrint only - a driver is not required.

The move from Canon drivers to AirPrint has been made to improve the user experience as any future updates will be applied automatically through your operating system.

For details on how to print via AirPrint and troubleshooting information please visit our AirPrint guide ."

I cannot find separate macOS 12 printer driver downloads for these models. There are some other applications though, and the UK site has a TS8300 series Setup package (Mac). Where did you download the aforementioned drivers package?
