Reset Password Failed

Hi, I need help resetting my password please!

I have tried 2 methods: 1. Using my Apple ID and 2. Opening the reset password using the terminal (steps were press power button, hold cmmd+r, Utilities, Terminal then typed reset password, enter).

Both of these methods fail, and they give me the message “There are no users on this volume to recover”. I have a photo of this message but it won’t let me upload it to this message.

I have photos on there that I don’t want to lose, and the problem is my photos are only stored on the MacBook because my iCloud is full and hasn’t been synching for months. So I don’t want to try the method where you delete everything and reinstall the operating system.

Please help!!
