Notes entry disappeared while editing it

Adding text to notes entry with about 30 lines of text, when suddenly all text in it disappeared. Now the entry is gone.

All notes in iCloud. No matching enty in Recently deleted folder. IOS 15.6.1 Only 1/3 of iPhone memory used.

Logging into iCloud.com shows exactly same contents as iPhone. No such entry, no matching entry in Recently deleted.

Almost as if i hit some key combo that deleted the entry while it in. But i am a slow typist, so did nothing so fancy.

This also happened a year or so ago and i found no way to restore it.

Perhaps i should not rely on notes to save information.

Are the notes entries also stored on the mac (11.6.8) ?

Any suggestion as to recovering this?
