iPhone 7S switching on and off

I have have tried everything including hard reset and setting up as new then restoring from backup. Nothing works so what is the next step? Is it possibly a battery problem or some other physical rather than software problem? Yes I have the latest iOS on it also.

please help !

Apple regards 80% as borderline unhealthy and 82% is very close to that. So it's just as you suspected in your original post: "Is it possibly a battery problem...?" ...Yes! Have the weak, aging battery replaced and all will be well:
