I am trying to install ExamSoft as a requirement for school, but it cannot install it when arm processors and virtual machines are present. What are these and how do I manage this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you do not have an ARM processor. Are you running any programs like Virtual Box? You might want to talk to your schools IT department.
What year is your MBP? Does it have an Apple M processor? That would be an Arm processor. A virtual machine is a program like VirtualBox which allows you to run another computer virtually on your Mac
