The folder “Downloads” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.

All of a sudden I can't get into my Downloads folder because I don't have permission. I am the owner, administrator and only person who uses my computer. How can I get permission back?

Choose Home from the Finder's Go menu, control-click Downloads, select Get Info, and give yourself access.
