Calendar Alert "Time to Leave" is stuck on Walking time

Ever since I got home from Europe a couple months ago, where we did walk to a lot of places, all of my alerts are calculated based on walking time. So, just a minute ago, I got alerted that it was time to leave to get my kids to soccer practice, because it was going to take 2 hours + to walk there.

I set the Alert on my events to "Time to Leave". I don't use the "Travel Time" option.

How do I get my phone to start using drive time for my alerts again?

Yes, I have to switch the transportation method every time now to the Car. I don't live in an area with much public transit, so that is not the option I use. The calendar alerts have still been using walking time.

I found the answer though:

In Settings, under Maps, there is "Preferred Type of Travel". That was selected as Walking. I've updated to Driving.

Hey there Jeeper83,

Have you tried changing the travel method since noticing it only showing walking time? If not, give this a try next and check to see if the issue persists. To change travel method, use the steps below after opening the Maps app:

1. Do one of the following:

• Say something like “Hey Siri, give me transit directions to the Ferry Building.” Learn how to ask Siri.
Note: Siri transit directions aren’t available in all countries or regions.
• Tap your destination (such as a search result in Maps or a landmark on a map), or touch and hold anywhere on the map, then tap the directions button.

2. When a suggested route appears, you can do any of the following:
Switch to transit directions: If transit isn’t your default mode of travel, tap the Transit button to see a suggested transit route.
Choose a future departure or arrival time: Tap Leaving Now (near the top of the route card), select a time or date for departure or arrival, then tap Done.
Select which transit method you prefer: Scroll to the bottom of the route card, then select your preferences.

For additional details: Get transit directions in Maps on iPhone - Apple Support

Take care!
