Hi,

A Brother MFC-9330CDW is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting the driverless AirPrint technology, so you may not need a workaround.

An AirPrint printer is compatible with macOS, and you should be able to use it without additional drivers, provided that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network (subnet, Wi-Fi router). AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections. You could choose to wire the printer by Ethernet to one of the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router, if you so wish.

For a USB connection, drivers from the printer manufacturer would be required. The latest supported printer driver seems to be for macOS 10.15 Catalina (whether this driver could work with a somewhat newer system as well is unknown).

Thank you for the information.

Is the printer wirelessly connected? If so, you could check whether anything would be different with a connection (by Ethernet) to one of the LAN ports of the Wi-Fi router? Normally, it should not matter, but it may rule out a detection problem. Some modern routers have automatic device detection and band (2.4/5 Ghz) selection. This could potentially create difficulties. In such a case, it may become necessary to use a manual setting or split/rename Wi-Fi networks.

Any information about the Wi-Fi router model (please do not post serial numbers or access codes)?

Generally speaking, if there is a problem with AirPrint discovery for one or more devices, and all settings are OK, one could try the following full procedure (in this order):

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac computer, and all other devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac computer. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.

Thank you, Jan. I really appreciate the help.

When I attempt to add the printer via system preferences, the add printer box is blank. I have reset the printing system on my Mac, reset the printer, reconnected the printer to the network and verified the printer and Mac are on the same network but it is still not working. I recently changed ISP. The printer was working fine before.

Any suggestions?

Thank you
