I just recently installed Monterey on my computer. I need to recover some mail from my inbox that I deleted.
I open the mail folder but when i open Time Machine, it goes
to the desk top and i can't get to mail. Don’t know how to find the mail inbox while in TM.
Go to your Home/Library/Mail/V9 folder and then enter Time Machine. That's where TM will start. Then go back in time to just before you deleted the emails and recover the V9 folder to the Desktop. You'll have to go thru the email to see which one you want to save. It's not easy.

For that specific issue - information has been supplied and possible with remedial actions needed
While in your Home folder go to the Vioew ➙ View Options menu item and in the window that comes up make sure this checkbox is checked:
Has the user Logged into the Web Interface of the Mail Servers and checked if they are still there ?
OSX Monterey and Time Machine - Apple Community
My email is still working fine, both new and sent mail. I noticed that loading MontereyOS gave me a new mail app, but all is working. Something has caused this since the new OS download.

When I open Home, there is no Library folder.
When i open my HD and open Library, there is no Mail folder.
Don't know what I am missing.
Another observation I don't understand.
I open Applications and have a Mail.app. on the screen. When I open TM and select any date, there is no Mail app on the TM display.
