M1 MacBook Pro can't detect UAudio Apollo x4 any more
A few days ago, my MacBook stopped being able to detect my Apollo x4. The UA software won't detect it, and nothing shows as connected in the Thunderbolt/USB4 section of the System Report.
I have an older Intel MacBook for work that I used for comparison, and it can see the Apollo just fine. I installed the UA software on it and everything works as it should.
I have run Apple Diagnostics on the M1 and no issues were found. I have reinstalled the OS. I have reinstalled the UA software multiple times. I have tried multiple Thunderbolt 3 cables. The M1 can see other Thunderbolt devices just fine, e.g., my CalDigit dock and various external drives.
Strangely, when I connect to the Apollo through my CalDigit dock, it will appear and disappear, cycling every ten seconds or so. But connected directly, it's as if it doesn't exist. I have no explanation for that.
I have been in contact with UA, but since the Apollo works with my Intel Mac, they say this is an issue I need to take to Apple. 🙄
Anyone have any insights? I feel like the only next step is erasing the M1 entirely and starting from scratch, but that seems a huge PITA.
