Busuu App refund

I subscribed to the Busuu Language app for almost 2 years now. I have used it effectively the first year.

It had automatically renewed for the second year but I have not used it ever since. I’d like to request for a refund as I have not used the app at all.

I contacted the Busuu team and I was told that refunds were done through apple not the App it self.

Does this warrant for a refund?

If so, where can I request this refund as I’m unable to do it through apple support as I have unsubscribed from the service a long time ago.
