How to reduce image pixel dimensions on iPad

I don’t want to crop the image, just reduce the overall dimensions

Example: 6000x4000 pixels to 3000x2000 pixels

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

Hello 20Azartguy16,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We can help you adjust the image on your iPad.

Have you tried these steps to set specific dimensions?

  1. "Tap an object or group of objects to select it.
  2. If you don’t see blue dots around the object, the object is locked; you must unlock it before you can resize it.
  3. To choose whether the object resizes freely or proportionally, tap the Format button, tap Arrange, then turn Constrain Proportions off or on.
  4. Note: Groups containing certain objects can only be resized proportionally. These objects include images and movies that have been rotated, and shapes that have a green dot when selected.
  5. Do one of the following:
  • Resize freely: Drag a blue dot on the top, bottom, or sides (not a corner) of the object.
  • This action is possible only if Constrain Proportions is turned off (see step 2, above).
    • An object with blue dots on its border for changing the object’s size.
    • Resize proportionally: Drag a corner selection handle diagonally.
    • Resize from the center: Touch and hold a blue dot, touch and hold the middle of the object, then drag the blue dot.
    • Resize to specific dimensions: Tap the Format button, tap Arrange, tap W or H, then enter values for Width and Height."

You can also search the App Store for a different app if these steps are not exactly what you're looking for:

"How to get apps

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the App Store app.
  2. Browse through the Today, Games, Apps, or Arcade tabs to find apps you like. Or tap the Search tab to look for something specific. If you find a game that says Arcade, subscribe to Apple Arcade to play the game.

3. Tap or click the price or Get button. If you see the "Open" button instead of a price or Get button, you already bought or downloaded that app."

We hope this helps you get the image adjusted to your exact liking on your iPad.

Cheers!

If you don’t want to use Keynote for this…

One option:

Another is your own Shortcut: https://www.howtogeek.com/726913/how-to-resize-or-reduce-photo-size-on-iphone-and-ipad/

In addition to Keynote, there are other app store apps available that can re-size an image, as well.

Art and image-editing apps often also offer this, too.

The Procreate app has this image re-size feature for instance, though it’s oddly named.
