Cannot attach files using Google Chrome on Macbook Air M2

I recently bought a Macbook Air M2 (OS is Monterey) and I have been unable to attach files in Google Chrome. I use this for work and don't want to switch browsers because Google has my passwords saved and I have used it for years. Google Chrome is updated, I have cleared cookies/cache (which also makes me re-log in to everything, annoying) and I went to the System Preferences and deleted Google Chrome (System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Privacy>Files and Folders) by using the minus button. It will work intermittently and then it stops working. It is really messing with my workflow because I attach a lot of documents to emails. Please help!

Yes, it is true that I cannot attach files in Outlook, but I also cannot attach files on LinkedIn or any system I use to upload files. When I hit the browse computer button to pull up the files, it doesn’t respond. I am a recruiter so I am constantly attaching resumes to emails, uploading word documents into ATS systems, and exchanging job descriptions and resumes on LinkedIn. It works in Safari, but that is inconvenient for my workflow because everything is saved in Google and I don’t like using Safari.
