I am having a problem on Chrome where when I hit save as PDF, I can't save to a specific folder anymore because the dialog box opens underneath the PDF preview. I used to be able to select save as PDF and then save to a specific folder, but now I have to add an extra step of saving it to my desktop and then moving it to a specific folder after the fact. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Well, Chrome isn't an Apple application and if you are using the most current version, then you may be able to use the ⌘+` shortcut to cycle to the Save panel, or visit the Chrome Window menu and see if that Save panel appears there for selection. Dialogs are normally programmed to appear above the main application.
As BDAqua has mentioned, sometimes, booting into Safe Boot mode clears some System caches and performs other house-keeping that clear up unexplained application behaviors. This boot mode can be slower than normal, and requires patience.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
