My available storage space went down by 1GB in 6 days and i cant figure out why, i need help!

Six days ago my available storage was exactly 48.5GB . . . But now, it's down to 47.6!! And I don't know why.

I was able to delete 700+MB worth of chrome data that was made over a year ago, which made it go to 48.22GB, but just a few hours after doing that, it reduced all the way down to 48.04, and in a few minutes it went to 48.08

I did nothing in those six days except for using chrome, and I checked the app support and cache; the files only increased the chrome data by 110MB.

And the files that I deleted which made it go up by 700MB were files made a year ago, and they're still "was" a 300+MB difference in the used storage space even after those files. And currently, it sits at 48.08GB, with 420MB worth of files taking up my system storage. and while this was happening, I installed an app that was 35MB in size, but when I uninstalled it, only 10MB was released in used storage space, I made sure that the application didn;t leave any app support or cache files but I wasn;t able to find any, maybe this could be linked to my issue? I don't know.

I Did not remember installing or downloading anything except for that 35MB app, and I checked my cache and app files, but nothing increased significantly, I did notice a 150MB total change from a few folders, but none added up to 1GB, and it doesn't make sense to the 140MB change of free space after I deleted all that old chrome data.

I literally have access to 95% of everything that is taking up my storage space, and I am also aware of what is taking up that extra 5%, but I tried so hard, I did not find anything that caused that dramatic decrease in available storage space in just six days.

So is there any way I can view what has been taking up my storage space for the past six days? and what caused that decrease even after deleting some unused app data? I searched all around every single big folder on my computer in hopes of finding a change in size, but couldn't find anything.

and no, I'm not using a third-party app to view what's been using up my space recently; perhaps there is a way like a terminal or a system report to view what has been taking up my storage. Even just a folder in finder that I can view would help.

The final word from Apple on Managing the " Other/ System Data “ Category

Other / System Data: Contains files that don’t fall into the categories listed here. This category primarily includes files and data used by the system, such as log files, caches, VM files, and other runtime system resources. Also included are temporary files, fonts, app support files, and plug-ins. You can't manage the contents of this category. The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac.

Well good you cleared 1 GB of space which in computer term is small.

The supplied information are all links to methods to Regain Space on the computer.

Fail to see where that is not clear.

it is suggested to keep at least 15%  to 20% of the Drive Total Capacity as Empty Space for good operations of the computer and the above links proved earlier will assist in keeping this Lack of Empt Space issue at bay
