Thanks B_S_T,

Are you using iOS 15.6.1? If not, we recommend backing up and then updating. This could help to clear things up if it's related to an iOS issue, and will be useful in ruling out possible software causes. Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

"Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 14.8 or iOS 15.
  6. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

If the issue persists, or if you've already updated, there are a few other things we'd like to check. Is this happening with songs you're streaming, songs that are downloaded, or both? If only streaming songs are affected, we recommend testing on both cellular data and Wi-Fi to see if there's a difference. This helps to rule out possible connectivity issues.

Keep us posted. Take care.

Hey B_S_T,

It sounds like you're having an issue with songs not playing in a playlist on your iOS device.

You can find information on using Apple Music in the following article, some steps there may help as it includes information on shuffling and playing songs in playlists: Listen to music and more in the Apple Music app - Apple Support

If that doesn't help resolve the issue, we'd likely need some more information to narrow the issue down further to provide additional troubleshooting.

Which device and OS version is this happening with?

What happens exactly with songs on the playlist? Is it not allowing you to add more songs, or does it stop playing at a certain point, such as when reaching a specific song, or number of songs?

Are you an Apple Music subscriber?

Thanks!

Hi there B_S_T,

Does this happen with only one playlist? Knowing that will help narrow things down so we can rule out a few possible causes. How to make a playlist in the Apple Music app - Apple Support

Create a playlist on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Android device

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap Library.
  3. Tap Playlists.
  4. Tap New Playlist.
  5. Give your playlist a name, then tap Add Music.
  6. Find the music that you want to add.

  • On iPhone or iPod touch, tap the music you want, then tap Done. If you add music directly from the search box, hit Cancel, then tap Done."
