how do I find photos stored in iphoto

I noticed that my iPhoto app is no longer available, and I had a lot of imported images in it. Is there any way to recover them? I have checked my pictures folder, and all that has are the images currently in my photo folder on my phone. Nothing that i had imported into iPhoto. Thank you!

Assuming that the iPhoto Library is on your computer, Launch its replacement, Photos, with the option key held down. Choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new Library that you can use to get at the images you had in iPhoto.

There had been a way to convert iPhoto library for use with newer Photos for macOS.
