Printer: Canon ImageClass MF4570dn

Folks-

I have a ~ten-year old ImageClass MF4570dn Printer that has served me well. I recently purchased an iMAC desktop that runs OS Monterey 12.5.1. I have tried downloading the recommended driver from the Canon website. The driver does not install in my mac's printers and scanners folder-it doesn't even see the printer that is physically connected by USB. Is this printer too old to be used with the present generation of macs?

Thanks!

Your printer may be too old to have an updated 64 bit driver. Try the free, open-source Gutenprint print driver.  Check this page to see if your printer is supported:  Gutenprint Supported Printers.

Thank you for the information.

Yes, I noticed the printer name difference (i-SENSYS/imageCLASS).

The printer driver files appear to have the same version number (but the latest file from Canon Europe for macOS 12.5.1 seems to have a release date 31 August 2022).

Since the files from both sources are new, it is difficult to understand why it does not work with your printer.
