I don't know. Are you certain you're typing it out correctly? My Mac at home currently has a dodgy i key that types about 40% of the time that I tap it. Do you perhaps need to fully sign out of the store before you sign in again? Is two factor authentication enabled on your Apple ID? See Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support. Note that any device PIN/password is distinct from your Apple ID password.

Then why won't iTunes accept my password? I just changed it and received the message that the change was successful. Then I tried to sign in to iTunes Store with the new PW, only to receive the message that it was wrong.
