How can my husband make purchases without me having to give a code? The only one I have set up for approval is my son. My husband went to make a purchase and it required him to get an access code from me.

I don't know where you are or if the rules are the same, but here in the UK whenever I've updated the debit card associated with my Apple ID I've had to give my children the 3-digit CVV2 code from the back of my card. This, presumably, is to confirm that I still really trust them with the ability to make charges to my card when making purchases through the family account. This should be a one time deal, rather the approval process you have for your son for each purchase.
