Does it matter if an encrypted back up is saving to an unencrypted back up

An unencrypted Time Machine backup disk may be used to create an exact duplicate of the source Mac, without the need for a password to unencrypt the backup.


That should be a consideration if the backup disk were to be lost or stolen (for example).
