Forgot old passcode for encrypted data

Is there a way I can reset my old passcode for the encrypted data without losing any data? because I erased my phone and couldn’t remember my passcode

No. The password is part of the encryption key. If you forget it, your data is lost.

so my only option is to erase or rest the encrypted data. And start from scratch.
