Does ESPN app work with Air play? I can’t get the picture to appear but the audio works. It just keeps taking me to the AirPlay screen on my LG TV.

Airplay with ESPN app won’t restart after commercials Watching live Arkansas sports on ESPN+ app from iPhone 14 using airplay to LG tv. Every time there’s a commercial break, the stream stops. It does not show the commercials, and it does not restart after the commercial break. I have go into the app, select the game, and restart the stream. I’m up to date on iOS, ESPN app, and LG software. If I’m watching only on my phone, the problem doesn’t happen. I tested by watching a few different games today, and it didn’t happen on those. Commercial breaks were fine. The stream stopped on one other Arkansas football game in September (game was only on SEC+). It’s happening again on an Arkansas basketball game also on SEC+. Again, it only happens when they go to commercial break. It did not happen when using my Roku box direct HDMI to the same LG tv. is there a setting somewhere I’ve set wrong? I don’t want to have to move my Roku every time I want to stream a game.

Airplay to new LG QNED TV In searching this forum there are lots of conflicting answers, so I am going to ask it separately. I just got a new LG QNED TV and cannot Airplay the ESPN app from any device to the TV. I AM able to connect my device. So I get the code and the connection is made and the TV shows up as an Airplay option on the device. I click the TV option and the device (either my ipad or iPhone) thinks it’s connected. But nothing shows up on the TV except the Airplay setup screen. The TV “thinks” about it for a minute and appears to be connecting to my device but again, nothing shows on the screen. I do not know if this is an ESPN app issue or a TV issue, but LG support is horrible. I have done all the things they’ve asked me to do (reset device, reinstall the ESPN app, turn off Bluetooth, etc.). We Airplay a lot of sporting events and I am so disappointed I didn’t look into this before buying an LG. Not sure what else i could try Airplaying in order to determine if it’s the ESPN app or not. Oh, to add to this. I tried Airplaying through the Apple TV app on the TV and that did not work either. I know this is not an Apple issue, but figured you all are smart, so I’d ask here.

This page here can help out with AirPlay not working as expected: If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device - Apple Support

In particular, the "If you see video but don't hear audio" section helps to provide the following:

If you don't hear audio when streaming video from your iOS device or Mac to your Apple TV, make sure that the volume is turned up and not muted on both your iOS device and your television or receiver.

If you're streaming video from an iPhone or iPad, check the Ring/Silent switch. If it's set to silent, you'll see an orange line. Toggle the switch to turn on the ringer.
