I bought a brand new iphone 13 pro max and tried to conncet to wifi at home but its not connecting to my router

Well, there are probably at least a dozen reasons why a device might not connect to Wi-Fi, so let’s try to narrow down the problem.


FIRST, have you tried rebooting the router by turning it off for about 15 seconds? After that:


What is the symptom of “not connecting”? Do you see the ID of the router in your iPhone? When you tap on it does it prompt for the router password? What happens when you enter the router password; do you get an error message? Have you verified the password by logging in to the router control center and checking what the password is (it may also be on a sticker on the router if it hasn’t been changed from the default).


If you don’t see the router when you go to Settings/Wi-Fi, does the router have a hidden SSID? If it does, are you entering the SSID correctly when trying to connect?


Does the router have MAC filtering enabled (aka Access Control)? If it does, have you entered the Wi-Fi address of the phone into the router’s “allowed” table?
