Final Cut Not Importing audio tracks on video files

Final Cut Pro X 10.6.4

Mac Studio

macOS 12.3

I have .mp4 H.264 or h.265 files recorded with a hyper deck 4k that include 4 channels of embedded SDI audio. When I import them into final cut there is no audio included with the video file. I have made sure to check that "Remove Silent Channels" is not enabled. The files will import with all the audio tracks in DaVinci Resolve, Media Composer and Pro Tools. How do you fix the import with final cut?

Mac Studio, macOS 12.3

From the Black Magic specs page it seems like the files should be supported in FCP. They list it as a supported editor.

Can you post a short file with the 4 tracks of embedded audio to download and test? Not Youtube, but something like Dropbox or WeTransfer?

One quick thing to try whenever FCP doesn't behave as expected is to reset its preferences. Hold option and command while launching and choose Delete Preferences... It will open the default Untitled library. Re-open the library you were working on, set the prefs back to the way you like them and see if the import behaves differently.
