cannot create apple id. Your information cannot be saved at this time. Please help.

I cannot create my apple id. After I enter the confirmation codes from my phone and my email, I get a pop-up that says "your information cannot be saved at this time". What can I do to fix this?

If this is a new-to-you, used, or refurbished iPad, perform a factory reset:


Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support


If this is a new iPad, or this iPad has just been factory reset, and still won’t create an Apple ID, then here are some other means of creating an Apple ID:

If one of those methods does not work, contact Apple Support. Use the Get Support link in the upper right of this webpage.

You already have an Apple ID, as you have successfully logged in here. Adding a new Apple ID is often a poor approach, as purchases and subscriptions cannot be migrated. Creating a new Apple ID will not clear an Activation Lock, as well.


Restart the iPad or iPhone or Mac, or whatever else you’re using here, and try again.


If you have an add-on VPN client app, or an add-on security app, remove it all, restart, and try again.


Failing that, contact Apple Support.
