Troubleshooting iPad WiFi:
A. Delete a VPN:
The VPN is common a culprit. So, disconnect from it, unless required for work, school, and such.
B. Start Here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t Connect to a Wi-Fi Network - Apple Support
C. Clear Temporary Internet Files:
If Wifi is disconnecting, try clearing out your Temporary Internet Files: History, Cache, and Cookies. Go Here: Clear your Safari Browser History and Set Up Content Blockers on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
D. Report this to Apple:
Did you just update your device?
Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come.
Thanks for responding.
The iPad is a iPad mini 3
Model number is MGNR2LL/A
Internal storage is 16GB
Available is 6.33 GB
Other devices connected to the same wireless wifi router all have excellent speed.
It is a little hard to help/advise you when you provide little to NO useful information about your iPad.
Here are my questions to you.
Can you, please, confirm what year and model iPad do you have/own?
The “A” model number can be found on the aluminium back of your iPad, in very small print, right under the larger bold print “iPad” on the back of the iPad.
What iOS/iPadOS version is this iPad, currently, running?
What is the rated, internal data storage space/capacity of your iPad model and how much of this free, internal data storage capacity is left inside of your iPad model?
All of that additional info can be found in the Settings app, General settings panel, About.
Please try to make an attempt to answer all questions asked.
Thank You.
You own a low storage, 16 GBs iOS device that is getting low on internal storage.
There is little that can be done to rectify that issue.
Sorry.
A 16 GBs storage iPad starts out, after initial drive formatting, at approx. 14.5 GBs of free, internal storage.
After the installation of iOS 12 at approx. 4.5/t GBs, leaves 9 GBs of of free, internal data storage space.
iOS/iPadOS needs a minimum of 3-6 GBs of constant remaining storage, that MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES, to insure/ensure nominal, acceptable operation of all iOS/iPadOS functionalities.
This leaves a 16 GBs iPad with ONLY a practical, usable storage space of between 2 and 6 GBs AND THAT IS IT!
This is virtually NO internal data storage to do much of anything with that iPad!
This is why Apple quietly, silently did away with all 16 GBs iOS device back sometime in 2016.
Apple just put an end to 32 GBs devices, in September 2021, with the base model iPad now offering 64 GBs of internal data storage ( approx. 50 GBs of actual, usable internal data storage ), which, for a few more years, anyways, has enough storage to make an iPad useful for longer period of time before data storage fills up.
Purchasing a low storage Apple device, to save on the cost of the device, is a false economy.
Sorry.
Thanks for the info. It's interesting that until a couple of months ago it worked well. No new data gas been added in that time so available storage hasn't changed.
I won it in a contest and tried to pay the difference for a better version but could not.
