The Translate app stops or times out

I noticed running the Translate app that it stops translating after a short time- I think less than a minute. This is using the microphone to convert speech to text. Is there a way to make it run without it timing out or stopping?

Apple Translate Hi - I have translate with languages downloaded on an iPhone SE bought in April 2022 using iOS Version 16.4.1. Translate used to work well now it has stopped. I reinstalled it, switched the phone off and on, and though the screens for Conversation appear, 'Tap mic to speak' is greyed out, and tapping the mic icon makes it jump but nothing happens. Any ideas please? Thanks.

Context: Verified in different messages apps and Apple notes in iOS 18.5 Work around: Delete the bilingual keyboards in your settings and create individual keyboards, rejecting the suggestion to turn them into bilingual. Remark: I could never figure why Apple can’t hear the difference between the two languages and adjust automatically. Not even Apple Intelligence can auto-detect. Very frustrating.

IOS & MacOS dictation is bad and sometimes unusable Even latest devices like iPhone 15 Pro Max & MacBook Pro M1 have issues with the dictation. And I'm using dictation for different languages but primary with English. It often confuses words, sometimes completely writes unusable sentences and sometimes cannot even recognize some words. I have both iOS and android devices. And unfortunately, for now, Google dictation works much more smoothly and more precise. There are a lot of improvements needs to be done. I'm really hoping that Apple would improve its dictation in the future.

You are correct. Translate typically stops translating your conversation in about 60 seconds. You can contact Apple to submit your suggestions/feedback for the app. Here is the link:
