Can't move app into group

I have a group of app icons on the first page of my Home Screen. This group I've labeled "Finance," and it includes apps for my bank and credit cards. I've recently added another bank app, which appears on the second Home Screen page. I've tried many times to drag that icon into the Finance group, but to no avail. Here's what happens every time I've tried—

  • I press and hold the new bank icon, and the icons all start to wiggle.
  • I touch and slide the new bank icon into the first page, only to find that the Finance group is not visible. There's just a blank space.

What's happening here, and how do I fix it?

If the Finance folder is the last folder on the first page it was probably moved to the second page when you dragged the new icon to the first page. To “trick” iOS into leaving it on the first page, first drag the Finance folder somewhere else on the home page so it isn’t the last group, then drag the new app into it, then put Finance back where you want it.
