Why is there no functionality for custom keywords spam filter for Messages / SMS ?

This seems to be a massive oversight with the default and built-in app for Messages / SMS in this device's operating system. For sure there is no way to change the way SMS is handled here, so why is there no way to filter out messages received via SMS and block them based on keywords set? The SMS spam I'm receiving on a daily rate is getting to an absurd amount and now especially with our full names now appearing in them.

When is Apple going to put this basic functionality in for Messages? Just let me block messages with specific keywords in them. And I am not talking about iMessage's filtering of unknown senders. I don't care about that. The spam I am receiving now is via SMS.

There already is a way. There are many message filtering apps available in the App Store.

I use https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bouncer-private-sms-blocker/id1457476313 which works quite well for my needs. However, its pattern matching is based on Regular Expressions, which can be a bit daunting for the uninitiated. I’m sure there are others that are equally effective and easy to use.
