NHS hearing aids which are not fit for purpose

Why do the NHS continue to promote and fit patients with Phonak hearing aids which are not fit for purpose with the use of Apple Iphones?

iPhone 11, iOS 15

I doubt anyone here in this user-to-user forum for Apple products is privy to the reasons behind policy choices of the NHS. However, it is likely that they do not view "use with iPhones" as the most important criterion for determining "fit for purpose". Things like "improving patient hearing" is probably further up the list. Also, considerations like cost-effectiveness and reliability probably matter more than their ability to work with an iPhone.

But, why don't you ask the NHS?
