How do you create a side footer in Pages?

How do you create a side footer in Pages as you can do in Word? Basically, the ability to make a side footer go down the right side of the page.

Since Pages is not a Word clone, it does not provide a side footer feature as you can implement in MS Word, nor will it retain a side footer already in a Word document, should you open one in Pages.
