Gmail blocking Apple mail access

I just followed the pop ups and answered accordingly until I came across the option to turn off the security (they didn’t recommend it) and allow third party apps access “despite the damage they might do.”


I don’t know if this link will work, but it gets you to where to find “allow less secure apps”. Turn it on. If you follow the email they sent you I just kept clicking on “learn more” NEVER CANCEL, until I found an area dealing with third party apps. Clicked that and it took me to turn on/turn off insevure apps. It works fine now.

Google requires app specific passwords.

Apple has something equivalent for signing into an Apple service with an Apple ID:
