Photos are now HEIC files
The photos I take on my iPhone, when shown in my iCloud folder on my PC are now HEIC files (the older photos are still jpg).
How can I get my iPhone to save the photos ad jpg files?

We'd be happy to help out. Sounds like your photos are saving as HEIC files instead of JPGs as you prefer. We can help with that.
This just indicates that you're using High Efficiency for Camera Capture. This is required for any cinematic video, 4k at 60 FPS, 1080p at 240 FPS, and HDR video. HEIC also reduces the file size.
if you're not performing any of the actions listed above and aren't concerned about the storage size of your photos and videos, you can still capture JPGs by going to Settings > Camera > Under Camera Capture tap on 'Most Compatible'.
